Dr. Asokumar Buvendran, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Director of Orthopedic Anesthesia at Rush, was recently elected President of R Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists (ISA) for the 2010-2011. As part of his duties, he will serve as one of the Illinois Delegates to the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA)'s House of Delegates. The next meeting of the ASA's House of Delgates will be held during the ASA's Annual Meeting in San Diego, California, on Oct 16-20, 2010.
Dr. Timothy Lubenow, Professor of Anesthesiology, Director of the Rush Pain Clinic, was recently elected the Chairman of the Illinois Medical Anesthesia Political Action Committee (IMPAC). The IMPAC, which serves as a political voice for ISA was founded in 1991.
The ISA works with IMPAC to enhance the voice of medicine in Springfield. IMAPAC remains active in state elections to help keep the concerns of anesthesiologists in the legislative forefront in Illinois. For more information about IMPAC, visit the ISA website.
Dr. David R. Rothenberg, Max S. Sadove, MD Professor of Anesthesiology at Rush has also been elected to serve as an Illinois Delegate to the ASA for 2012.
Dr. W. Christopher Croley, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, was elected as an ASA Alternate Delegate of the ISA for the 2011 ASA meeting. Dr. Croley was also elected President of ISA House of Delegates' District 1 (City of Chicago) for 2011.
In addition, the following Rush Department of Anesthesiology faculty have been elected as ISA District 1 Delegates.
